If you want an exciting day in Cairo, just head to the Camel market. When Ruth and I arrived we were going to stay about an hour, but got so involved we stayed all day. Watching them roundup the camels and load them in trucks was like watching a Texas rodeo. Camels are herded across the desert from as far away as Sudan. They travel as far as 700 miles through the barren desert.
