Civic Medic: Kai Chang at TEDxUCSD

Kai Chang has held a variety of corporate positions, but nothing has changed his outlook quite as much as when a pedestrian was struck by a car right outside of a café he was in. Despite his only medical training being a Red Cross course in first aid that he had taken on a whim, he suddenly found himself as the most qualified person in the room to save the pedestrian's life. Now, he talks about how we can all easily save a life just as he did, starting by devoting just a few short moments in our lives to learn what to do in emergency situations.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
