Charles A. Wight took office as the 12th president of Weber State University in January 2013. A distinguished scholar and academic leader, he has more than 28 years of experience in higher education.
President Wight earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology. He is the co-author of more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and two books.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
