West African leaders say dialogue with coup leaders in Niger will form the "bedrock" of their response to the crisis.

The Regional group ECOWAS says it will prioritise diplomacy as they attempts to return the country to civilian rule. They had previously threatened military action. It comes after coup leaders installed a new interim government earlier. Malik Fuda has more.
