Hideki Ishida

Professor Ishida reaches out globally for a paradigm shift in manufacturing. From 2004, he has been advocating a new kind of manufacture that cleverly channels the forces of nature, which he calls "Nature Technology." He envisions the lifestyles of tomorrow as one that applies the artful designs of nature and ancestral wisdom, and has been working to realize that vision.

In addition, he has been actively involved in environmental education with both children and adults. He also holds executive positions in non-profit organizations such as Nature Tech Laboratory, Sustainable Solutions, Monozukuri Seimei Bunmei Kiko, and Earthwatch Japan. His expertise lies in geological and mineralogical material science.

また、社会人の環境人材育成や、子供たちの環境教育にも積極的に携わる。ネイチャーテック研究会代表、サステナブル・ソリューションズ理事長、ものづくり生命文明機構理事、アースウォッチ・ジャパン理事ほか。専門は地質鉱物学をベースとした材料科学。

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
