Tomáš Staník develops software for people with special needs. At the age of 18 he participated in the development of programs for cerebral palsy patients rehabilitation. During his university studies, he became interested in using modern technologies to help people with visual impairment. He's the co-author of a vibrating belt prototype which should enable the blind to avoid obstacles in the environment. His diploma thesis, dealing with the design of an algorithm to improve precision when estimating position of a user indoors based on existing infrastructure of wireless internet networks, was awarded as one of the best technological theses in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2012. Since last year, he has been fully dedicated to the development of a mobile application that enables blind people to use their friends eye's remotely through video and location.
