Dorota Barová is a singing cellist. She studied the cello at Ostrava Conservatory and graduated in 1995. She started her career in a music group called Lippany led by a guitarist Tomáš Maňas. She composed and interpreted music for the French Theater FF MU in Brno, in 2000-2002 she played in Jiří Hradil's Chorchestr band (funky-beat-jazz), with whom they released the album Arabigbit (Indies Records 2002). After that she played with Jiří Starý's band Asyl Akt (electro-acoustic-trip) for four years. She also worked as a music dramaturg of the Brno jazz café Podobrazy. She cooperated with the Brno theater Neslyším (I Don't Hear) and received a Thalia Award for the music in the play Dům Hluchého (House of a Deaf). She composed and recorded music for the film Marta directed by Marta Nováková. Currently, she performs in Tara Fuki band, as well as in Vertigo, Kuzmich Orchestra, DoMa Ensemble, Bucinatores Orchestra, Tellemarkk, Varietní Trio Konráda Kapitoly (Konrád Kapitol Variety Trio), and the acustic project Pár míst (A Couple of Places) of Aneta Langerová.
