Levy talks about how most of us possess a combination of calling (what we were born to do) and instinct (acting on hunches by taking risks). He chronicles how his own calling and instinct have informed his life and career, eventually leading him to meet and collaborate creatively with two inspirational visionaries who also acted on their instincts and took risks: television impresario Mark Burnett and blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer.

Bio- Buddy Levy is a journalist and historian who stars in Brad Meltzer's Decoded on H2. He is clinical associate professor of English at Washington State University and the author of Geronimo (with coach Mike Leach) River of Darkness and Conquistador. Levy's jour-nalism and book writing have taken him on expeditions and adven-tures to Argentina, Borneo, Greenland, Iceland, the Philippines, Mexi-co, Morocco, and throughout Europe. He got his start in entertainment as a comic stuntman for Warren Miller Ski Films.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
