Larry Moss began his career in 1985 as a NYC street performer, but has gone on to display amazing air-filled art around the world. His achievements have been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press, CNN Headline, PBS, Smithsonian Magazine and Ripley's Believe It or Not! Moss has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, NBC's "Today" and at the White House, and has held a Guinness World Record. The author of many ballooning books, Larry has a degree in applied math and computer science, as well as a master's in elementary education. Building community through his large-scale art creations is of particular interest to Larry, and was the focus of his 2009 TEDxRochester talk.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
