Richard Hughson began his performing career in 1993. Trained in mime, martial arts, and clowning, he is now a local actor, director, stilt-walker, and physical comedian. He is a founding member of Rochester's own Flower City Vaudeville troupe and has performed his one man show "Science Reliance -- Because you never know what you never know" all along the east coast from Vermont to North Carolina. Richard is always happy to explore the limits of science and the foolishness of mankind.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
