Ann Johnson, has been engaging the community as her central goal over the past four years as Director of ACT Rochester, which is the community indicators provider for the nine-county Upstate New York Finger Lakes region. While the website serves as a "one stop shop" for data, analysis and links to more than 300 community initiatives and resources, it is Ann's experience in business and government and her personal commitment that helps drive the program's success.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
