Composer Russell Steinberg received a Ph.D. in music from Harvard University where he studied with Leon Kirchner. His music has been performed in Austria, Chilé, Colorado, New York, Wisconsin, and California. He is the Director of the Milken Classical Music Academy and a popular lecturer for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New West Symphony, and as Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
