Opportune Uncertainty | Jaxson Khan | TEDxEdmonton

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Jaxson speaks on the idea of "uncertainty" as it relates to youth employment and the development of the next generation of Canadian leaders in politics, business, journalism, and social justice. His vision for Canada and the role that youth will play in this future is inspiring, but he emphasizes the commitment and faith required to get there.

Named one of Canada's Top 20 Under 20 young leaders, Jaxson Khan is working to make Canada and the world a better place. Jaxson is a leader and co-founder of the Young Diplomats of Canada, and a partner with the International Diplomatic Education Association, which engages the country's top young professionals in global diplomatic forums and leadership opportunities. He has travelled to and conducted research in fifteen countries across four continents, including the UK, Belgium, Israel, Rwanda, and Ethiopia, and represented Canada at the United Nations in New York City as well as the G8 Youth Summit. Jaxson is an Ambassador of One Young World, and a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum. Previously, Jaxson co-founded Student Voice Initiative, the national non-profit organization that advocates for students to sit on school boards. Student Voice Initiative delivered a landmark presentation to 250 public school boards at the Canadian School Boards' Association in 2013, setting the stage for recent policy changes in Alberta and British Columbia. He writes often for the Globe and Mail, and is a Co-Founder of its National Student Advisory Council.
