This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Patty talks about her journey with activism and things like the "vagina monologues." Now a leader and mentor for many different organizations, Patty talks about using writing and voice to help spread activism to others and the community.
Dr. Patty Cunningham is a three-time graduate of The Ohio State University, having received her undergraduate degree in Women's Studies; a master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs; a doctoral degree in Cultural Foundations.
Currently, she serves as the Director of the Social Change focused on partial poverty solutions that houses Buckeye Civic Engagement Connection. For Buckeye REACH, a partnership with the Department of Youth Services, Dr. Cunningham directs students in education programs that have the primary goal of reducing recidivism. She is the co-Primary investigator of The Appalachian Project, Ohio, a research project focusing in getting more students from Appalachian Ohio to attend higher education. Dr. Cunningham is a Bell Fellow and is a trained "Ruling Our Experiences (ROX)" facilitator
