Joshua Okello is a computer programmer, poet, writer and blogger. He has an impossible passion for technology, innovation and literature as tools for socio-economic development. He is involved with a number of initiatives and runs two startup companies.
He is Co-Founder and Business Development Lead at Cipher256, the team (now Cipher256 Co. Ltd) behind the Microsoft Imagine Cup grant winning application, Winsenga (a maternal health solution for developing countries).
He is a believer in solutions for Africa by Africans and the power of passion.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
