Using your passion to impact lives: JAQ Dewey at TEDxNakaseroWomen 2013

JAQ Dewey is a Ugandan-based singer and songwriter, influenced
by Contemporary African Musicians like Brenda Fassie and Angelique
Kidjo.
Despite the negative society perceptions of women entertainers in Uganda, JAQ has used her passion and through her music and Radio show, impacted positively on people's lives.
JAQ recorded her first single "Oukwamunabi" early 2013 and released
it April 26th 2013. As a singer, JAQ inspires you through her powerful
vocals that re-assure you of what a force the women folk have become
in the entertainment industry.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
