With the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan ending, thousands of veterans are getting out of the military and attending college, utilizing the education benefits that were given as an incentive for their service. After years of war and military indoctrination, veterans struggle to adapt to the unfamiliar landscape of college campuses, which seem unprepared to handle the challenge of the increasing student veteran population.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
