In an age where powerful corporate conglomerates dominate the political, economic, and social conversation, the idea and image of the so-called "Rock Star" had become more a marketing mouthpiece than an agent for social and political change. Using the music industry as an example, McWalters shows how technology has helped perpetuate the problem, but also how, if used properly, it can be a saving grace.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
