Tom combines a unique blend of strategy, marketing, general management, technology and Internet experience along with his entrepreneurial passion for creating new business models. He is the Founder and CEO of a marketing and innovation consultancy called TB Innovative and is the author of Diary of an Innovator—Finding the Path Not Taken. Tom has started a number of businesses in the U.S. and around the globe and has a long history of successfully driving innovative sales and marketing programs from his 25+ years at J&J, GSK, P&G and a number of small entrepreneurial business ventures. He launched more than 25 brands in five different countries -- and served on the Board of Directors of two international business units.

Tom spent 6 years as Chief Information Officer and Head of Global eMarketing for GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, creating a 400 person selling network at Universities to drive sales of GSK brands. Tom was the founder and CEO of OmniChoice—an Internet based solutions business that sold decision support software to telecom providers. He also worked as VP of Sales and Marketing for Intermedia—an Internet agency focused on delivering web-based marketing solutions for pharmaceutical brands.

Tom holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Duke University and he earned his MBA in Entrepreneurial Management/Marketing from the Wharton School of Business. He is an Adjunct Professor teaching at Wharton's Small Business Development Center (First Steps to Starting a New Business) and at Villanova's School of Business (Entrepreneurial Marketing). Tom is continuously inspired by the students at Villanova, noting that there are always exceptional students who teach him as much as he teaches them. Tom also provides Executive Coaching to a number of clients. When he is not working, he is on the sidelines watching his four kids swim, play soccer, basketball, football, baseball, lacrosse and softball."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
