What is real learning?: Carl Jarvis at TEDxPocklington

When Carl was appointed Headteacher at Hartsholme Primary School in 2009 the school was deep in special measures and one of the poorest performing schools in the country. Two years later, following a radical restructure and rapid development programme, Hartsholme Academy became an outstanding school and is now achieving consistently within the top 5% of all schools. Carl will be focusing on his philosophy which centres on innovative practices, including project based learning and the use of mobile technology to ensure that teaching is of the highest quality and ALL children reach their true potential.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
