Words Matter: Laura Dare at TEDxMonterey

Creating her own positive theme song for young girls and boys to replace the steady drumbeat of limited and often disparaging popular messages about women and their bodies, Laura Dare - singer, songwriter and mother, - wants us to radically change the conversation about self-worth among young girls and women. In this poignant and entertaining talk, Laura reminds us that words do matter, what we say to ourselves, what we say to others about ourselves and what we say out loud about others.

Laura is a Californian, a partner, a mother, a singer/songwriter, and activist for children's rights. Laura has been writing songs for about 20 years.
