In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. Rachel Koay, is a founding partner of Panda KT Sdn Bhd. This Public Relations and Advertising agency was founded when she was 24 years old on her believe that these areas are not divisions but a passionate and eclectic collection of expertise. Panda commenced operations in 2011 with its motto "We Don't Sleep" and has since developed many accounts which include leading property developers, educational institutions as well as the government.
Two years later, this avid and fussy traveller founded a female-only hostel called Queen's in Penang with a bunch of her friends. Since its opening four months ago, Queen's has rapidly gained popularity amongst travellers to Penang and is now ranked No. 2 in Trip Advisor and has been featured in numerous radio stations, newspapers, magazines, websites and other media platforms.
