Ankara'dan Genç Bir Girişimci Daha Ödül Aldı

Taner Yıldırım, 23 yaşında Ankara'lı bir girişimci ve Gonna (www.getgonna.com) kurucusu. Bilkent Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Mühendisliği'ni bitirdikten sonra 3 arkadaşı Onur Şentüre, Aras Can Akın ve Can Bülbül ile ABD Dışişleri Bakanlığı'nın 'Küresel Girişimlik Programı' (GEP) tarafından desteklenen MIT EF Türkiye İş Planı Yarışması'na katıldılar. 2800 proje arasından 2. seçilerek hem 15000 $ ödül kazandılar, hem de Amerika'ya giderek ürünlerini oradaki diğer girişimci ve yatırımcılara sunma fırsatı buldular. Gonna, ilgilerinizi (arkadaşlarınız, tuttuğunuz takım, sevdiğiniz ünlüler) takip e dip onların yaklaşan etkinlik ve aktivitelerinden haberdar olabileceğiniz mobil bir sosyal takvim uygulaması. Henüz 1 ay önce iPhone'lara yayınlanan Gonna bu kısa sürede şimdiden 5000 üyeye sahip.

"Küresel Girişimcilik Programı", ABD ve Türkiye'den girişimcilere destek veren "melek yatırımcılar"ın buluşturulması ve ABD'nin ünlü Silikon Vadisi'nden girişimcilerle Türkiye'den genç girişimcilerin biraraya getirilmesi gibi etkinlikler ile girişimcilik eğitimi alanında çeşitli ortaklıkları kapsamakta. Programa ilişkin mutabakat zaptı, 22 Haziran 2011'de TOBB Başkanı ve TEPAV Mütevelli Heyeti Başkanı M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu ile ABD Büyükelçisi Francis Ricciardone tarafından imzalandı.

Taner Yıldırım, CEO of Gonna (www.getgonna.com), is a 23 year old entrepreneur from Ankara. After graduating from Bilkent University Computer Engineering, he and his 3 friends Onur Şentüre, Can Bülbül and Aras Can Akin participated in MIT EF Turkey Business Plan Competition 2012, which is supported by GEP. They became 2nd out of 2800 participants and won 15000 $ prize, as well as the chance to present their product to the other investors and entrepreneurs in the US. 'Gonna' is a social calendar for iPhones where users can follow their interests (friends, favorite teams, celebs etc.) and discover their upcoming events & activities. Gonna is just released 1 month ago and got 5000 users right now.

The Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP) is a U.S. State Department-led effort to promote and spur entrepreneurship by catalyzing and coordinating private sector and U.S. Government programs to support entrepreneurs around the world.
GEP - Turkey was launched with a Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Francis Ricciardone and TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, following the Partners For a New Beginning (PNB) initiative TOBB and TEPAV started in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State.

The Program was officially launched on 3 December 2011 in Istanbul by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. U.S. President Obama had announced both programs during the Entrepreneurship Summit held in Washington in 2010. GEP is managed by the State Department's Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs.
