Ariel Schlesinger at Kunsthaus Baselland

A Mini Cooper filled with gas, fueling a small flame that comes out of a hole drilled in the car's passenger window, is one of the best known works by Berlin-based artist Ariel Schlesinger, but it's not the only work in which he is playing with fire, and only one of the many works that are currently on display at Kunsthaus Baselland. Ariel Schlesinger's solo exhibition is his largest institutional solo exhibition to date. In this video, we have a look at the exhibition and watch Ariel Schlesinger and the director of Kunsthaus Baselland, Ines Goldbach, discuss his work. The exhibition runs until July 6, 2014.

Ariel Schlesinger was born in 1980 in Jerusalem. He is known for minimal and precise interventions into everyday objects. He alters them through sophisticated or sometimes radical interventions. Schlesinger currently lives and works in Berlin.
