Dr. Anne-MarieZajdlik is a mom, family doctor and an HIV physician in Ontario, Canada. In 2005, Anne-Marie launched the Bracelet of Hope campaign for the fight against AIDS in Africa. Her passion and vision have inspired many to join forces with her and other organizations to bring hope and healing to those touched by AIDS. Says Anne-Marie, "More than ever, I believe that our very survival as a global society depends on our response. To whom much is given, much is expected."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
