Hackable Buildings: Shawne Gehle at TEDxVeniceBeach

Is the key to building the sustainable building of the future actually not building a new building at all but instead taking our existing infrastructure and hacking it to fit contemporary and future needs?

Shawn's work has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and featured in numerous publications and design journals. Most recently he has lectured on "Gensler Los Angeles: Explorations within a Global Practice," as part of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Hearst Lecture series and in a four part lecture of the same name for SCI-Arc.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
