Ohio Republican John Boehner served nearly five years as House Speaker before passing the torch to Paul Ryan, and he retires this week after 25 years in Congress. Doyle McManus of The Los Angeles Times says that his career as Speaker may not have been what he wanted it to be and that he may have been better suited to serve as Speaker 20 years ago. Robert Costa of The Washington Post and Jeanne Cummings of The Wall Street Journal discuss the legacy of Boehner and the second life for political leaders after retirement. Four lowering-polling Republicans candidates met in the undercard debate, and although candidates like Sen. Lindsey Graham performed well, John Harwood of CNBC says chances are slim that it’s possible to do what Carly Fiorina did and rise up to the main stage.
