Fabio Cleto è critico e saggista ed insegna Letteratura inglese e Storia culturale all'Università di Bergamo, dove dirige l'ORA -- Osservatorio sui Segni del Tempo. Si occupa di immaginari della cultura di massa e di storia del presente.
Fra i suoi libri, Camp: Queer Aesthetics and the Performing Subject (University of Michigan Press, 1999), testo di riferimento nelle università di tutto il mondo, i due volumi italiani PopCamp (Marcos y Marcos, 2008) e più recentemente Intrigo internazionale. Pop, chic, spie degli anni Sessanta (ilSaggiatore, 2013). Ha pubblicato saggi e tenuto conferenze, in Italia e all'estero, sulla queer theory, sul gender e la politica della sessualità, sulla teoria critica contemporanea e sulla politica della rappresentazione, sul dissenso culturale otto-novecentesco e sulla queer pulp fiction statunitense. Collabora con Rai Radio3.

He teaches English literature and Cultural History at the University of Bergamo, where he leads the ORA -- Observatory On Signs of Time. He's focused on visions of mass culture and the history of the present. Among his books, "Camp: Queer Aesthetics and the Performing Subject" (University of Michigan Press, 1999), considered a seminal book in universities all around the world, the two italian books "PopCamp" (Marcos y Marcos, 2008) and more recently "North by northwest. Pop, chic, spies of the Sixties" (ilSaggiatore, 2013). He published essays and held conferences, in Italy and abroad, about queer theory, gender and sexual policy, contemporary critical theory, the politics of representation, 19-20th century cultural dissent and the American queer pulp fiction. He cooperates with Rai Radio3 (Italian state broadcast).
