Barbara Ventura
Nasce a Bergamo nel 1971, dove tutt'ora risiede con i figli Gaia e Giorgio. Cresciuta tra mattoncini lego, tessuti, cavi, cacciaviti, cartoni, ... è fin dalla prima infanzia inconsapevole maker.
Dopo la maturità scientifica, alternando allo studio le più svariate esperienze lavorative, si laurea in architettura con indirizzo in design nel 1998, presentando una tesi sul ruolo dell'automazione e dell'interfaccia utente, redatta in collaborazione con l'allora Zanussi Vending, oggi Necta.
Da sempre incantata dalle contaminazioni, negli anni a seguire ha l'opportunità di dedicarsi a progetti che consentono frequenti cambi di scala, passando dal disegno di oggetti d'uso quotidiano, alla progettazione di edifici terziari; integrando le esperienze professionali più tradizionali con collaborazioni in ambiti creativi trasversali, quali la grafica e la comunicazione. Dal 2011 collabora con l'università di Bergamo.
Seguendo la scia di un percorso culturale ibrido e di un approccio professionale eclettico, nel 2013 fonda Fablab Bergamo, con Vittorio Paris, ingegnere e computational designer, e Giovanni Assi, dottore commercialista e revisore contabile; immancabilmente affiancati dal sostegno di una abile squadra operativa.

Born in Bergamo in 1971, where she still lives with her children Gaia and Giorgio.
Grown among lego bricks, fabrics, wires, screwdrivers, cardboards, ... she's been an unconscious maker since her childhood.
After the scientific high school she studies architecture (specialization in design), while taking many different jobs, and graduates in 1998 with a thesis about the role of automation and user interface, edited in cooperation with Zanussi Vending, now called Necta.
Always attracted by contaminations, she's then been able to deal with projects that allowed her to "scale up and down", whose design ranges from everyday objects to buildings for the service sector; integrating the most conventional cooperations with interdisciplinary creative environments, like graphic and communication. She cooperates with the University of Bergamo since 2011.
Following the trail of a hybrid cultural path and an eclectic professional approach, in 2013 she starts Fablab Bergamo with Vittorio Paris (engineer and computational designer) and Giovanni Assi, accounting and revisor. Needless to say, they're all supported by a talented staff.


In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
