An F&M Class of 2013 graduate who came to the College after his family left Saudi Arabia to find educational opportunities. Hossain, who has a bachelor's degree in government, worked as an advocate for those seeking political asylum and was a campus leader during his time at the College. He became the College's first recipient of the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship for graduate studies in public service.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
