Our Antique Education: Sam Watling at TEDxBrighton

Sam Watling is has had a very colourful education, from studying in a normal, state primary school to a Buddhist one and even once gaining a scholarship to a private school. However, ironically, the majority of academic qualifications he ever achieved were during the period when he was home educated. This experience, mostly due to the Asperger's syndrome he was born with, has shaped him and imprinted on his personality arguably the greatest mark of any experience in his short life so far.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
