Consider our greatest science visionaries, what would the world be like without their inventions? (Lightsout.) Thomas Edison for example was once asked by a reporter, "Mr. Edison, how could you have continued to try to develop the electric light bulb after failing a thousand times?" His response, "Sir, I did not fail once. I found 1,000 ways that did not work." (Lights back on.) This sense of perseverance in the face of solving a problem is admirable, yet is not a part of today's educational experience.
