This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Jenn put her passion for social issues and her fantastically analytic mind to work to help us understand how we all contribute to a better community. Her own experiences and expert insights break down daunting, complex issues and offer a path for our own simple, authentic choices to make a difference.

Jenn Bergen is passionate about community engagement, as well as providing the space and resources necessary for groups to take action on social justice issues.

She has experience with non-profit, charity, and change-making organizations in Saskatchewan, and has planned and implemented an array of social and environmental programming (in conjunction with other movers and shakers in the province).

These initiatives have included the co-founding of a 5,400 square foot community garden, organizing a (now annual) activist leadership camp for youth, co-founding Regina Band Swap, facilitating workshops at global justice youth conferences around the province, and sitting on boards and committees for those organizations she loves. She is most recently the co-founder of a new community coworking space in Regina, the Queen City Hub.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
