Tonight I'm joined by broadcaster Cristina Saralegui, who was named by Time Magazine as one of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America. Her daily show on the Univision network won 12 Emmys over its 21-year run and broke new ground for audiences, tackling issues that other Latino broadcasters shied away from addressing. That commitment to deal honestly with difficult issues is evident in her new book, "Rise Up and Shine! My Secrets for Success in Career, Relationships and Life." In it she writes candidly about, among other things, her son's struggle with mental illness.
In this clip, Cristina describes how she first learned of her son's illness only after he checked himself into a psychiatric ward.
