Susie Meister was born and raised in Pittsburgh, but after high school joined MTV's "Road Rules: Australia" for the ride of her life. She has since done "Road Rules: Viewers Revenge" and six "Real World Road Rules Challenges" (but don't judge her!). She has been an on-air contributor for PBS/WQED's "OnQ," editor of MANIAC Magazine, and featured in local and national advertising campaigns.
Susie has completed her doctorate in Religious Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where she focused on evangelical Christianity in the United States. During her graduate studies she produced the documentary, The Revolving Door Faith Club.
Despite Susie's interest in academia, she just can't shake her love for media, and now hosts the The Meister Piece podcast. Her podcast features interviews with celebrities and is available on iTunes.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
