Time for a change: Brian Jones at TEDxNagyerdő

Brian Jones. In 2008 I quit my job as a commercial property manager at the ripe old age of 34 and hopped on a plane with a one way ticket to Hungary. Myself and my wife had purchased a small-holding heart of the Pannonian Plain in Rural Hungary and had wild dreams of growing food, brewing wine and living an altogether simpler life. The perks of having relatively well paid careers are obvious yet the downside was that time did not appear to belong to us when we lived in the UK and our time in Hungary has given us the most precious aspect of life back to us... Time!

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
