Bank of China Hong Kong (BOCHK) has been the Diamond Sponsor of the Belt and Road Summit for three consecutive years. Its parent company Bank of China (BOC) also takes an active role in cultivating the markets along the Belt and Road by providing financial services and funding support for infrastructure projects. In an interview with the HKTDC at the Belt and Road Summit 2018, Dr E Zhihuan, Chief Economist of the Bank of China (Hong Kong), revealed that the BOC aims to penetrate fifty percent of the Belt and Road market. The BOCHK is also eager to offer financial products and services to the Southeast Asia market.
