Disability and Employment Struggle- Personal Lessons: Paul Anomah-Kordieh at TEDxLabone

"Disability can be said to be open club where anyone can join at any time, not by chance, but by circumstances". According to the 2011 UN World Report on Disability, about 80 to 90 percent of persons living with disability in development countries are unemployed. Being a physically challenged person yet making incredible strides in the field of professional journalism in Ghana, Paul Anomah-Kordieh paints the picture of what it means to be physically challenged or disabled in developing countries.

Paul ANOMAH-KORDIEH is a blind journalist with eTV Ghana. Born in 1979 and loosing his sight at a young age of five, he started his career as a journalist with Radio VALCO in the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana. He then served as the Regional correspondent of Choice FM in Accra and presented the weekly news on Coastal TV also in the Central Region. He currently highlights eTV's prime time news and presents 'News Extra' on the same channel. His efforts have been awarded by the University of Ghana's Students Representative Council for inspiring many with his captivating presentations.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
