The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to help you to discover nature and learn more about the Missouri stream team program.

For 25 years, stream team volunteers have worked to keep Missouri rivers and streams clean and healthy.

The program started when a group of anglers got fed up with trash disrupting their fishing in Roubidoux creek, so they cleaned this section of stream.

Stream teams provide opportunities for all Missourians to get involved in river conservation.

One of the wonderful things about the stream team program is that anyone can participate, regardless of your background, your age, your ability level.
We really try to tailor the program to our volunteers and their interest.

Stream teams adopt portions of streams to conduct surveys and take on projects like clean up and stream bank stabilization.

Currently there are more than 4,000 stream teams around the state with more than 85,000 volunteers.

It is easy to get involved and be part of a stream team.
