Maximilian Witherell (1994-present) is an active performer. Currently a freshman at the University of South Carolina, he has played many different instruments including piano, handbells, singing and contrabassoon, but he is best known for his work on the bassoon. After being mistakenly called an oboist or clarinetist for years by the general public, he has committed himself to the uphill battle of establishing a cultural, widely-known identity for his instrument.
