Oratorical Yawp: Using Poetry to Build Community: Craig Rickett at TEDxCCS

Craig Rickett teaches and coaches students in the gentle arts of public speaking, argumentation and debate, and theatre at Spokane Falls Community College. During the last two decades at CCS, he has also coached the intercollegiate speech and debate team and taught and directed theatre. Craig currently serves as SFCC's Prior Learning Assessment Coordinator.Craig's play Seeds of Change debuted in May at the Spokane Interplayers Theatre, and his poetry is published in a variety of literary journals, including SFCC's Wire Harp. In 1999 he appeared opposite Patty Duke in the Spokane Civic Theatre production of The Glass Menagerie.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
