The future of cinema is authorless | Gerardo Tuduri | TEDxMadridSalon

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. If cinema is a way of collectively envisioning and understanding our life, our society and the future, it is not acceptable that only a few thousand professionals in the world, the "movie industry", participate. What happens when people with no professional background become writers, actors, directors? This talk shows the results of this remarkable project, Authorless Cinema, which has been functioning in Spain and France for the last 10 years. This talk has been recorded at the first TEDx event held in the open air, by night, by and for the community, with zero budget, in the public square: the Campo de Cebada in Madrid. In order not to disturb the neighbors, the audience practices the "deaf applause", and this is the reason for all those moving hands!

Gerardo Tuduri was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and he is a movie director, writer and multimedia artist. All his work has been developed in the intersection between art and social intervention. In 2008, together with 3 collegues, he created "Cine sin Autor" (Authorless Cinema). From 2009 to 2011 the project develops in Madrid, then it starts in Toulouse, France. In 2012 the group creates the first Factory for an Authorless Cinema which has produced alredy some amazing examples of this revolutionary art.
