Shizuoka-born Tetra Tanizaki is the originator and coordinator of a new value system (Paradigm Shift) and a shift to a sustainable society (World Shift). He collects data on the world's eco-community, shares designs for the future and uses examples from the Ecovillage's community design to demonstrate the power of local currency, community education, and permaculture (sustainable agriculture).

TEDxFukuoka is one of the TEDx conferences.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
