The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to help you discover nature and be safe this hunting season.
For many Missourians, falling leaves and cooling temperatures mean deer season.
It’s an exciting time of year, so don’t let a hunting accident ruin a good time.
Hunting can be a very safe activity.
However, you must always use good judgment and take responsibility for your actions.
First, always point your muzzle in a safe direction.
Be sure of your target and what’s beyond it before you shoot.
If you hunt from a tree stand, always use a properly fitted safety harness.
Know and obey the hunting regulations, starting with the proper permit.
Remember, hunting is not a competitve sport, so make it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
