The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to help you to discover nature with a day on the river.
Whether your passion is angling for smallmouth or rock bass, looking out for wildlife, or drifting downstream with the current, when you are on river time, stress can just float away!
Missouri is full of waterways for you to enjoy.
To make the most of your float, you'll want to be properly prepared.
To get started, you'll need a canoe or raft, which you can rent from numerous outfitters throughout the state.
Make sure you have a life jacket and don't forget a trash bag.
While floating, you will want to wear a swimming suit, old tennis shoes or water shoes and a hat.
Plus, don't forget to pack other essentials such as sunscreen, a safety kit, food and water.
Wondering where to go?
Check out the conservation department's updated paddler's guide to Missouri.
It features maps and descriptions of nearly three thousand floatable miles on fifty eight streams and rivers.
What are you waiting for? Floating Missouri's streams is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
