You’ll need

2 tbsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp granulated sugar
350 ml warm water
500g of all-purpose flour
2 tsp salt

For the top;
Plain yogurt

Here’s how

1.Dissolve 2 tbsp of active yeast and 1 tbsp of sugar in 350 ml of warm water.
2. Transfer 500 g of flour to a large bowl, add 2 tsp of salt and form a hollow in the center and pour in the yeasted water. Then start kneading.
3. Cover the dough and let it rise about 40 minutes.
4. Now, punch down the dough, use your fingertips to gently press while doing so.
5. Then, transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Stretch the bottom of the dough and fold it up to the center, then repeat with the left side, right side, and top until you form the dough into a ball.
6. Divide the dough into 8 pieces.
7. Roll these 8 pieces into balls.
8. Line an oven tray with parchment paper.
9. Gently shape the balls into cylinder shape.
10. Once you have shaped the dough, place on the oven tray and let it rest for 15-20 minutes covered with a damp towel.
11. Brush the dough with plain yogurt.
12. Use a sharp knife or a razor blade to score the surface of the loaves.
13. Bake in an oven preheated at 230 degrees about 25 minutes. Placing a cup of water on the bottom rack of the oven before starting to heat, results in a softer bread with a crisp crust.
15. Your loaves are ready! Let them cool to room temperature.
16. You can slice when loaves are completely cooled down. Enjoy!
