You'll need
For the cake:
4 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
60 ml lukewarm water
A pinch of salt
2 tsp vanilla sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp red food coloring
1 tsp cocoa powder
For the filling:
2 packets whipped cream mix (150 g)
250 ml cold milk
1 cup = 200 ml
Here's how
Beat egg yolk and sugar, then add water.
Add flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and beat again.
Adjust the color with red food coloring, and add a bit of cocoa powder.
Whip egg whites and salt until foamy, then gently fold into the mixture, being careful not to deflate the foam
Pour the prepared cake batter into a springform pan lined with parchment paper. We used a 19 cm round springform pan.
Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes, then remove from the mold.
Slice off the top and set aside, divide the cake into 3 equal parts.
Soak cake layers with milk, then cover with whipped cream.
Crumble the reserved cake and use it for decoration.
If possible, allow the cake to chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or preferably overnight, before slicing and serving.
