The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to help you to discover nature and learn about Share the Harvest.

In the early 1990s, archery hunters around Columbia came up with the idea of sharing some of the deer meat they harvested with needy families.
This was the start of the Share the Harvest program.
Administered by the Conservation Federation of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Conservation—in 2012, hunters donated over 300,000 pounds of venison to local food pantries.
For needy families who are struggling, the Share the Harvest program is a great way in which those families can obtain that good protein meat that they need to eat.
And it’s a great way for hunters to feel good also to help those needy families.
Donating is easy.
Simply take your deer to an approved meat processor, and tell them how much of it you want to donate.
They will package the meat, and it will be taken to a charitable agency for distribution.

From nature’s bounty, hunters are helping to feed the hungry.
