Turkish Bread Poacha filled with potato filling and Feta Cheese (peynir - paneer) filling is always a great snack for Turkish tea time here in Turkey. This time i made my poaca layered with poppy seed paste and they came out so delicious.
I prepared these for my guest with other recipes together in the morning for afternoon tea time. In the next episode you sill watch the preps. as a vlog time by time. So stay tuned :)
Ingredients for Layered Turkish Poacha Bread
For the potato Filling:
1 big or 2 medium size onions
4 tbsp olive or vegetable oil
5-6 medium size potatoes boiled half cooked (about 10 minutes) adn grated
salt, red pepper flakes and ground black pepper to taste
For the Feta Cheese (paneer) Filling
Turkish feta cheese or similar kind (about 1 to 1+1/2 cups)
chopped parsley (optional but recommended:)
For The Poacha Yeast Dough
1 cup lukewarm water
1 tbsp dry active yeast
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 cup lukewarm milk
2 eggs (keep 1 yolk for top)
3/4 cup + 1 tbsp vegetable oil (or olive oil)
about 5 cups or more all purpose flour (don't add all at once look for smooth unsticky soft dough)
2 tsp salt
1 tsp milk for egg wash
poppyseeds, sesame seeds or nigella seeds for topping
