Evinizin önü Haticem, duttur geçilmez aman yar aman
Dutun yaprakları Haticem, sıktır seçilmez
Anadan geçilir Haticem, yardan geçilmez aman yar aman
Kar beyaz ellerine kara kına vurmuş, al diyor beni
Giyinmiş kuşanmış Haticem, sar diyor beni
Evinizin önü Haticem, ak gül ağacı aman yar aman
Dökülür yaprağı Haticem, kalır ağacı
Nerelerden gelir Haticem, bunun ilacı aman yar aman
Kar beyaz ellerine kara kına vurmuş, al diyor beni
Giyinmiş kuşanmış Haticem, sar diyor beni
Evinizin önü Haticem, yeşil iğdedir aman yar aman
İğdenin dalları Haticem, sarkmış yerdedir
Senin gönlün kimde Haticem, benim sendedir aman yar aman
Kar beyaz ellerine kara kına vurmuş, al diyor beni
Giyinmiş kuşanmış Haticem, sar diyor beni

“A song in Kürdi makam in 9/8 from the Deliorman region of northern Bulgaria”
Solist: Muammer Ketencoğlu
Original Source: Aysel Hasan
We learned this song from Hasan Karakaş’ collection of recordings. There is a very similar song with slight differences in the lyrics and melody to be found in the TRT repertoire, considered a Rumeli song with the catalog record number 3029.
In front of your house, my Hatice, is a mulberry tree that cannot be overlooked, aman.
The leaves of the mulberry are so thick and numerous you can’t chose just one
One can pass by one’s mother, my Haticem, but never one’s lover, aman.
Dark henna stains on her snow white hands, “Take me,” she she says
My Hatice has dressed up finely, “Embrace me,” she says.
In front of your house, my Hatice, is a white rose bush,
The leaves have fallen off but the branches remain
My Hatice where will I ever find the cure for this aman.
Dark henna stains on her snow white hands, “Take me,” she she says
My Hatice has dressed up finely, “Embrace me,” she says.
In front of your house, My Hatice, is a wild olive tree, aman
The branches of the wild olive have bent and touch the ground
Who has your heart, My Hatice? You have mine, aman.
Dark henna stains on her snow white hands, “Take me,” she she says
My Hatice has dressed up finely, “Embrace me,” she says.
